Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)

The minimum standard threshold qualification for all those entering the teaching in the lifelong learning sector from September 2007. 

Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS)

The Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is designed for those already in an associate teaching role, or intending to enter the profession in that role.

To make the documentation more manageable the qualification has been divided into three separate documents.

• The specification which details of how the qualification fits together, the assessment methodology and administrative procedures
• Mandatory Units which details the mandatory unit content for the qualification
• Optional Units which details the optional unit content for the qualification

Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS)

The Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is designed for those already in a full teaching role, as defined by DIUS regulations, 2007, or intending to enter the profession in that role.

To make the documentation more manageable the qualification has been divided into three separate documents.

• Mandatory Units which details the mandatory unit content for the qualification
• Optional Units which details the optional unit content for the qualification

Additional Diplomas in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector

The Additional Diplomas in teaching  the Lifelong Learning Sector for English (Literacy and ESOL) and Mathematics (Numeracy) are designed for teachers or potential teachers who wish to specialise in their teaching.
