Why Choose Ascentis?

There are many reasons our customers choose to work with us and stay with us year after year.

Subject Expertise

We pride ourselves on using subject experts in both the development and quality assurance of our qualifications.

We believe it is vital for you have support and guidance from someone with subject knowledge and experience. Therefore, we offer this as part of our service to all our customers. This also ensures standardisation across the country for our qualifications.

Free Internal Quality Assurance and Assessor Courses

Any member of staff who internally verifies Ascentis qualifications is entitled to attend one of our free Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) courses. These are held throughout the academic year in various locations and also by webinar.

Quality Assurance Events

To ensure standardisation across centres we hold free Regional Quality Meetings for qualification suites such as ESOL and Education and Training. These are facilitated by our subject expert External Quality Assurers and attended by tutors and coordinators of the relevant qualifications. These meetings give an invaluable opportunity to network with other practitioners, share best practice, see exemplar materials, and focus on standardisation. We also hold free subject specific Quality Assurance Webinars for suites such as English, Maths, Short Online Qualifications, Construction, Community Interpreting and Progression. For our Access to Higher Education providers we hold Curriculum and Standardisation Meetings.

Named Contacts

Having listened to feedback from our centres we understand that one of your main priorities is having any queries dealt with quickly and efficiently by a designated contact. We ensure that all centre coordinators have named contacts at Ascentis to help with any queries, as well as your designated External Quality Assurer. We also have dedicated Development Managers and Quality Assurance Managers for all qualification areas, and each centre has a Customer Support Assistant to ensure you get the most from our qualifications.

Free Resources

We regularly add new resources to our qualification suites to provide you with additional support and ensure our qualifications are easy to deliver. Our Short Online Qualifications (SOQs) come with online resources which the learner can work through at their own pace and then complete an online multiple choice assessment. This allows centres to run these qualifications in large numbers and contribute towards FELTAG targets, all with minimal teaching hours required. There are further resources available to support you and your learners on our website here.

Appropriate Assessment Methods

We carefully design our assessment methods to ensure that they are right for the learner and tutor and support progression post-qualification. We ensure that the methods allow the learner to demonstrate their full ability without external pressures, but also insisting on the appropriate conditions relative to the qualification and level.

No Minimum Registrations

There are no minimum registration requirements with Ascentis for any qualifications. This allows individual learners, small cohorts, or large cohorts of learners to complete our qualifications with no penalties or restrictions.

Minimal Paperwork/Administration

It is important that tutors spend as much of their time teaching as possible, and at Ascentis we do everything we can to take away the administrative burden that so many providers face. Where assessments are internally marked and verified, we keep paperwork to a minimum whilst still being prudent. Registering learners is easily done through our online portal QuartzWeb, which is also used to claim certificates.

Value for Money

We always keep our qualifications competitively priced. However, the quality of our qualifications and the service, training and support you receive as part of that registration fee is what sets us apart from other Awarding Organisations. We are here for you and offer support throughout all stages of the academic year to make life as simple as possible for you. If you are interested in becoming an Ascentis centre, or being approved for any suite of qualifications please call 01524 845046 or click here to email.

It has taught them the essential skills in mathematics which enabled them to deal with the practical problems and challenges of life – at home, in education and at work. These skills are valued by employers and further education, and are a platform on which to build other employability skills.
