Advance your T Level Transition Programme

The T Level Transition Programme, launched by the Department for Education (DfE) in September 2020, is a study programme for 16- to 19-year-olds specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto a T Level. The Transition Programme is targeted at students who are not ready to start a T Level but have the potential to progress onto one following a tailored preparation programme. A T Level Transition Programme is expected to be a full-time study programme lasting up to a standard academic year. The T Level Framework sets out the key components to provide a broad foundation for T Levels. Using the Framework, schools, colleges and training providers may develop the most appropriate and effective Transition programme to meet their own learners’ needs.

Our new T Level Transition Mapping document has been created to support and guide you with the development of a Transition Programme in line with the DfE’s T level Framework components.
