Ascentis Access to HE Excellence Awards 2021-2022 – Winners Announced
The Ascentis Excellence Awards take place each year to recognise the hard work and commitment demonstrated by Access to HE learners.
We were delighted to receive a record number of nominations for this year’s Excellence Awards and would like to thank all of our Access to HE centres for taking part.
The nominations have now been scrutinised by a panel of judges and a winner has been chosen in each category. There are two categories ‘Outstanding Academic Achievement’ and ‘Outstanding Commitment to Study’.
Outstanding Academic Achievement
Winner: Ben Turner, Blackburn College
Judges comment, “It is fantastic to hear a great example of an Access student’s personal passion for their work and brilliant achievement as a result.”
Outstanding Commitment to Study
Winner: Wendy Perks, Bridgwater and Taunton College
Judges comment, “This learner should be proud of their unwavering commitment to their learning journey. Personal grit and determination have led to this learner receiving the admiration of their teaching staff and an excellent qualification.”
