Ascentis celebrates two finalist nominations in the 2026 FAB Qualifications & Assessment Excellence Awards

We are delighted to announce that Ascentis has been shortlisted in two categories at the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) Qualifications & Assessment Excellence Awards 2026, recognising both our commitment to organisational excellence and the outstanding achievements of our learners.

Ascentis has been named as a finalist in the Good Governance Award, while Joshua Coleman has been shortlisted for the Learner of the Year – Champion of Qualifications & Assessment Award.

Organised by the Federation of Awarding Bodies, the annual awards celebrate excellence across the qualifications and assessment sector, recognising organisations, teams and individuals who are making an exceptional contribution to education, skills and lifelong learning across the UK. This year saw more than 120 entries submitted, making being shortlisted a significant achievement.

Being shortlisted for the Good Governance Award reflects Ascentis’ commitment to the highest standards of governance, accountability and leadership, ensuring we continue to deliver positive outcomes for learners, providers and employers across the UK.

We are equally proud to see Joshua Coleman shortlisted as a finalist for the Learner of the Year – Champion of Qualifications & Assessment Award. His nomination celebrates his dedication, determination and achievements, and we are thrilled to see him honoured alongside learners from across the awarding and assessment sector.

Joshua’s nomination celebrates an inspiring journey of determination and personal growth. Over the past three years, while studying a range of Ascentis qualifications, he has exceeded expectations, developing the confidence, skills and independence to thrive both in college and beyond. Through his work placements, volunteering and growing independence, Joshua has become a valued member of his local community, with his kindness, empathy and positive attitude making a lasting impression on everyone he meets. His journey is a powerful example of the life-changing impact that education, opportunity and the right support can have.

Commenting on the announcement, Phil Wilkinson, CEO of Ascentis, said: “We’re incredibly proud to receive recognition in two categories at this year’s FAB Awards. Being shortlisted for the Good Governance Award reflects the dedication of our Board, colleagues and partners in ensuring Ascentis continues to operate with integrity, transparency and a clear focus on delivering positive outcomes for learners and centres. We’re equally thrilled to see Joshua Coleman recognised for his outstanding achievements. Joshua’s story demonstrates the transformative impact that qualifications, opportunity and the right support can have on people’s lives.”

The winners will be announced at the FAB Qualifications & Assessment Excellence Awards ceremony on Thursday 26 November 2026 in Milton Keynes. We congratulate Joshua on this well-deserved recognition and wish all finalists the very best of luck!
