Ascentis Launches New Hybrid Learning Platform to Transform Access to Higher Education Delivery
As one of the UK’s leading awarding organisations, we are proud to announce the launch of a new hybrid learning platform designed to support the delivery of our nationally-recognised Access to Higher Education (HE) qualifications.
The Ascentis Access to Higher Education Diploma is a Level 3 qualification licensed by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and widely accepted by Higher Education Institutions across the UK. As one of the largest and longest-standing Access Validating Agencies, we have been at the forefront of Access to HE since the qualification’s inception in 1975. With 50 years of experience, we work with centres nationwide to deliver over 30 Diploma titles to more than 6,000 learners each year, supporting individuals to progress into higher education and transform their futures.
The new hybrid learning platform, Spriing, has been purpose-built in collaboration with centres to support blended and face-to-face delivery models. Developed by industry experts, the platform offers interactive and engaging digital content that ensures a high-quality learning experience for Access to HE learners.
Spriing brings all aspects of delivery together in one centralised system. Learners can track their progress easily throughout their Diploma, while tutors benefit from streamlined cohort management tools. External verification is completed directly through the platform, reducing administrative workload significantly and saving valuable time for centres.
Designed with flexibility at its core, Spriing supports a wide range of delivery approaches and enables Ascentis to work closely with centres to create bespoke Diploma structures and tailored resources that meet the specific needs of their learners. This ensures that providers can maintain high standards while adapting to local contexts and learner requirements.
Alongside the technology, Ascentis is offering comprehensive training, guidance and in-person support to help centres adopt the platform with confidence and deliver Access to HE programmes effectively.
The impact of our new platform is already being seen by centres delivering Access to HE programmes. Melanie DaCosta, an Access to HE Coordinator at Shipley College commented:
“Ascentis’ new hybrid platform for our Access to HE Diplomas has had a really positive impact on how our learners engage with their programmes at Shipley College. The flexibility of hybrid access allows learners to balance their studies more effectively around work and childcare commitments, without feeling disconnected from their learning.
The Spriing platform provides interactive resources that support engagement both in and out of the classroom, helping learners stay on track and feel supported. For staff, the ability to easily track class progress and learner engagement makes delivery and monitoring far more straightforward and efficient. This is in addition to the amazing support we get from Ascentis and our Account Manager.
Overall, the hybrid approach has supported a more inclusive and flexible learning experience for both learners and staff.”
The launch of Spriing reflects our continued commitment to innovation, quality and accessibility in adult education. By integrating decades of Access to Higher Education expertise with a robust and modern digital platform, Ascentis seeks to enhance centres’ ability to deliver flexible, well-structured and learner-centred pathways into higher education.
