Ascentis Level 2 Diploma in Maintenance Operations

Qualification Overview

The Ascentis Level 2 Diploma in Maintenance Operations provide learners with an overview of various maintenance operations, in the three key areas of landscaping, construction and building services. The qualifications are skills-based, with an emphasis on the practical skills needed for a range of repair jobs.

Aims

The aims of the qualification are to enable learners:

  • To provide learners with practical skills for various maintenance operations
  • To provide learners with knowledge of self-employment
  • To prepare learners for further training or employment
  • To give learners an insight into different areas within maintenance operations

Target Group

These qualifications are aimed at people aged 14+ and adults who have an interest in a career within maintenance operations, including working as a caretaker, a handy-person, a multi-skilled worker in a small or large company or someone who has an interest in DIY.

Assessment Method

The Introduction to Self-Employment unit is assessed through the learner building up a portfolio of evidence that covers the relevant assessment criteria, internally assessed and verified by the centre and then externally verified by Ascentis. The Principles of Health and Safety unit is assessed through an Ascentis-devised multiple-choice test. All the optional units are assessed by Ascentis-devised practical tasks.
