Learner Success- Isobel Ritchie
Isobel Ritchie returned to learning through the Access to HE Diploma at Lancaster and Morecambe College where her confidence in education began to grow again. She studied the Access to HE Diploma from 2024 to 2025 following a three-year break from education. After two previous attempts to return to learning, the course proved to be a turning point, sparking a passion for Psychology and inspiring her to pursue a future career in this field.
The course allowed Isobel to build a strong foundation of academic skills and confidence offering a clear supported route into university.
“The course is challenging, and it does require commitment, but it’s also one of the most rewarding things I’ve done. You’re given so much support, and the tutors genuinely want to see you succeed. If you’re willing to put the effort in, you’ll come out of it not just with qualifications but with real confidence and skills you’ll carry forward.
A year ago, I never imagined I’d be where I am now. I recommend the course, especially if you’ve struggled with traditional education or feel like you’ve fallen behind. This course reignited my love for learning and immeasurably boosted my confidence, but most importantly, it helped me move forward after feeling stuck for so long.”
