How To Make The Most of Ascentis EDSQ Resources
These resources have been developed with feedback from our centres and input from ESOL subject experts. Each unit has two learner resources.
The resources are editable and can be adapted to meet the needs of your learners. The resources can be completed by the learner using a digital device or printed off to enable accessibility to the content and to encourage confidence building for learners who are accessing the content at the lower end of the entry-level continuum.
Tutor PowerPoints
Each Unit has an accompanying PowerPoint Presentation. This can be adapted to meet the needs of your learner.
Activities and Resource Suggestions Booklet
Each qualification is supported by an activities suggestion booklet. For each assessment criteria, there are suggested discussion questions, practical activities and links to online resources.
Online Sample Assessment
The sample assessment is accessible on the Ascentis website. The sample is delivered by a web link and can be used by learners and tutors to build confidence and understanding of the assessment platform, Surpass. The sample gives simple instructions on how to navigate the assessments and provides an example of each item type that the learner will come across during the live assessment. Ascentis also supply online tutorial videos to further demonstrate the functionality of Surpass.
Practice Assessments
Ascentis allow learners two opportunities to complete a practice assessment. The practice assessments are delivered in full, enabling both learners and tutors to use the platform and complete an assessment in test condition and practice online marking processes.
