Access to Higher Education
Ascentis is an Access Validating Agency with a ‘Low Risk’ rating. The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is a full Level 3 qualification licensed by the QAA. It prepares learners who are returning to education or those who left school with few qualifications to be able to progress on to higher education. Access to HE Diplomas provide a good foundation in the knowledge and skills required for studying at university level and it is accepted by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
All Access to HE Diplomas have mandatory requirements. Diplomas must consist of 60 credits; 45 graded credits and 15 ungraded credits. The Rules of Combination vary for each Diploma but the Ascentis Diploma structure requires mandatory research and examined units. We currently offer over 35 Diploma titles which are all being revalidated for September 2019.
Who are these qualifications for?
The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is for learners aged 19+ who do not have the qualifications required to enter HE. Each year around 30,000 learners in the UK take Access to HE courses and many go on to succeed in HE and embark on life changing new careers.
