Qualification Overview

This qualification focuses on providing learners with the fundamental digital skills to enable them to progress onto further learning and introduce them to the digital environment. The qualification has been designed to directly align with the National Standards for Essential Digital Skills and is a stepping stone to engagement and participation with the online world. This qualification encourages the use of a range of digitals devices and promotes the implementation of accessibility settings to both personalise and improve the user experience. Learners will also be introduced to foundation skills required to access and navigate the internet and how to use and perform simple online functions.

Aims

The aims of the qualification are to enable learners:

• To recognise a range of digital devices and their features
• Navigate a home screen
• Adjust accessibility features of a digital device to suit their own needs and preference
• Access and navigate an internet browser
• Complete simple online searches.

Target Group

This qualification is aimed at a range of learners, including those who have had little interaction with digital equipment and resources, and learners who may have had little or no experience of formal learning.
