Ascentis Essential Digital Skills Available Now
Following last week’s announcement that our Essential Digital Skills qualifications have been approved, we would like to share more details of these qualifications – which are now available– and how they can enhance your provision.
About Essential Digital Skills
Our Essential Digital Skills Qualifications have been designed by subject experts to support those with little or no digital skills in gaining the essential digital skills required for day-to-day life and work.
Available at both Entry 3 and Level 1, these qualifications focus on the following 5 key skill areas:
- Using Devices and Handling Information
- Creating and Editing
- Communicating
- Transacting
- Being Safe and Responsible Online
Your learners are fully funded through a new legal entitlement offer to complete these qualifications, and will benefit from 50 guided learning hours to acquire important practical digital skills and engage with online platforms and software.
The Assessments
At Entry 3 the assessments consist of:
• 1 Observation completed within the guided learning hours to support Entry level learners and marked online. It consists of four tasks and forms the first part of assessment at Entry 3. Task sheet and observation record are provided.
• 1 Practical e-Assessment separated into two sections: Life and Work. These are uploaded onto the Ascentis secure online platform, by the learner. There is an option for a supervised break within the assessment.
• 1 Knowledge e-Assessment taken on the secure Ascentis e-Assessment platform and consists of multiple-choice questions, which are computer marked.
At Level 1 the assessments consist of:
• 1 Practical e-Assessment separated into three sections with an optional supervised break. These sections are Core, Life & Work.
• 1 Knowledge e-Assessment taken on the secure Ascentis e-Assessment platform and consists of multiple-choice questions, which are computer marked.
