Ascentis extends their popular Digital Skills portfolio with Essential Digital Skills
We are delighted to announce that our Essential Digital Skills Qualifications (EDSQ) have passed Ofqual’s technical evaluation and can now be made available to Education Providers, to provide vital digital education to the nation.
There has been huge interest in these qualifications from Education Providers wanting to tackle the digital skills gap between those who are digitally confident and those who have little or no experience of using digital devices, which has been increasingly evidenced by the coronavirus lockdowns. 22% of people don't have the essential digital skills for day-to-day life and 53% of adults in the UK don't have the digital skills required for work.
Our Essential Digital Skills for Work and Life qualifications at Entry 3 and Level 1 are available now and are fully funded through legal entitlement.
At both Entry 3 and Level 1, our qualifications cover in detail the digital skills required for life and work, focussing on the following 5 key skill areas:
- Using Devices and Handling Information
- Creating & Editing
- Communicating
- Transacting
- Being Safe and Responsible Online
A key benefit of these qualifications is that they focus on the acquisition of practical digital skills. Learners are encouraged to use digital devices throughout the course of the qualifications giving them an extra opportunity to engage with the online facilities and a range of software. This will ultimately boost their confidence for using digital devices to enable them to become more socially mobile and gain the necessary skills required in the workplace. In addition, our qualifications are fully marked online and accompanied by Tutor Guidance, helping you to teach these qualifications and your learners to succeed.
The Digital Skills legal entitlement is a brand new source of funding solely for these qualifications. It doesn’t impact entitlements to other funding sources or the funding of other qualifications, meaning these qualifications can be rolled out to all your provider’s learners giving them an additional learning opportunity and enriching their skills.
If you are interested in delivering these qualifications or would like more information please contact us at EDSQ@ascentis.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
